Free activities
The church in Hammarland is one of the Åland mother churches, which is a stone church from the late 13th century. The church is located next to the old postal route, which was the road for carrying mail and traveling during 1638-1910. There is also a large burial ground west of the church. The murals in the church are from the 15th century and also old and well-preserved furnishings. The church is open to visitors.
