St. Birgitta Church is a typical seafaring church located in Lemland municipality. The church was originally named after the patron saint of shipping, St. Nicholas, but in the later 15th century, St. Birgitta became the patron saint of the church. The church is built in red granite and the oldest murals are from the 1290s. Next to the church there are also Iron Age burial grounds and in the nave there have been archaeological finds, a tombstone from the 12th century. The church is open for visitors to take pictures and read about the church's history.
