Bomarsund fortress

Bomarsund Fortress was built by the Russian armed forces which was later destroyed during the war in 1854. Even today there are ruins of the old fortress in Bomarsund, for tourists to look at. At the ruin there are also information signs to read about the historic fortress and the war. Adjacent is Puttes Camping for overnight stays, ice cream kiosk and a restaurant.
